40 Minutes Delay
At the KLIA departure hall, the story revolves around 4 separate individuals that are leaving Malaysia, each having their own stories and unique situation of which due to the 40 minutes of flight delay, by fate have brought about changes in their decisions and their destiny.
Profile 1 : A young woman who is scheduled to fly back to Australia where her fiancé, an extremely rich man of great social stature whom unfortunately she does not love, but can offer everything in the world to her in terms of material wealth and an affluent lifestyle. The wedding of which has been arranged by both families awaits her return. Going deeper, during her stay in Malaysia, she has met another man, a free lance journalist that taught her more about life and love, passion and freedom of which she finds her true identity which she found comfort and self liberation. Her dilemma and her choice of her love pursuit takes a turn at the boarding room after she receives a phone call.
Profile 2 : Two men, partners in a high profile business venture have swindled their best friend’s share of the profit and decided to leave the country to start anew before being discovered. During their conversation in the waiting room, they realized that they have left out a small detail of which may completely turn the situation around and in that previous 40 minutes we see how they attempt to cover up the loophole. Did they finally manage to escape with the embezzled money?
Profile 3 : An old woman suffering from cancer spent her last 3 months in Malaysia with her grown up children and relatives and did her best to leave a mark in their lives before flying back to the U.S. Motivating and encouraging, financially and emotionally supporting them as best as she can, while concealing the fact that she had only another 8 weeks to live. She boldly decides to leave her loved ones with beautiful memories rather than to let them see her suffering, whilst she was physically dying inside but no one knew. The old woman happens to meet Profile 4 at the boarding room and we get to see how she has a hand in the destiny of the life of Profile 4 in their 40 minutes of conversation.
Profile 4 : A runaway teenager with problems of drug abuse, from a physically abusive relationship and bearing the child of an irresponsible college boy. Her depressed and helpless state inevitable led to her planning to take her life as she leaves her home country away from her parents of whom she does not want to confront due to shame and humiliation. Her planned suicide and lost of will to live takes a twist when Profile 3 shares her final journey that she has taken and the gift of life so precious to her. Will Profile 3 succeed in enlightening Profile 4 and help her resolve her issues giving her the strength to face her problems and overcome it?
